A Return to the Original Terroirs

Taken over in 2010 by Denis Mercier, the family estate in Chassagne-Montrachet (7 ha) embodies a meticulous approach to Chardonnay. After a career in oenology and catering, Denis brings back a pure and terroir-centered style, while working in sustainable agriculture.

Prestigious Plots and White Grapes

The estate relies on well-located plots: villages of Chassagne, premier crus (Chenevottes, Morgeot, Boudriotte), as well as a cuvée from Solutré-Pouilly. The clay-limestone soils are carefully tended, with thoughtful grassing and minimal mechanical intervention.

Style: Precision, Minerality, Tension

The cuvées are distinguished by their saline elegance, lively acidity, and silky texture. The Chardonnay reveals notes of ripe lemon, gunflint, and white flowers, with a precise balance between tension and roundness.

Iconic Cuvées

  • Chassagne-Montrachet Villages: pure expression of the local terroir.

  • Premiers Crus (Chenevottes, Morgeot, Boudriotte): aromatic finesse and assertive structure.

  • Pouilly-Fuissé: northern terroir, with a tonic and straightforward style.

Philosophy: Authenticity and Elegance

Denis Mercier favors manual harvesting, long fermentations, and aging in neutral oak barrels, in a style that respects the typicity of each climate. A simple, pure, and intuitive signature.
