Elegant pedigree, demanding micro-parcels, and contemporary style

Classified Grand Cru of Saint‑Émilion, Château Rol Valentin embodies a modern and meticulous approach to terroir wine. The estate covers 7.3 hectares spread between clay-limestone soils on the slopes of Saint‑Étienne‑de‑Lisse and ancient sands located near the Saint‑Émilion plateau. Each parcel is vinified separately to highlight the uniqueness of each terroir.

Terroir & grape varieties

The vines, with an average age of 40 years, are planted at high density. The grape composition consists of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Malbec, producing concentrated, structured yet elegant wines.

Viticulture & winemaking

The viticulture is meticulous, without herbicides, with plowing and manual harvesting in small crates. Each bunch is sorted in the vineyard and then in the cellar. The vinifications are parcel-based, in concrete or stainless steel vats, with gentle extraction. The aging lasts 14 to 16 months, half in new barrels, the other half in one-wine barrels or foudres.

Style & signature wines

Château Rol Valentin: the estate's grand wine. Dark robe, deep nose of blackberry, plum, graphite, blond tobacco, and dried flowers. Velvety, precise palate with beautiful mineral tension and a persistent finish. Ideal aging from 5 to 30 years.

Les Valentines: the estate's second wine, from young vines and specific parcels. It offers a more immediate, fruity, and round expression while maintaining the elegance of the house style.
