Domaine Peyre Rose — Silence, power, and timeless patience
Tucked in the hills of Saint-Pargoire in the Languedoc, Domaine Peyre Rose is the life’s work of Marlène Soria, a self-taught, fiercely independent winemaker. Since the early 1990s, she has crafted wines that defy convention—wines that are aged for over a decade before ever reaching the market.
Her philosophy is one of patience, minimal intervention, and profound respect for terroir. The result: majestic wines that speak of garrigue, time, and silence.
Vineyard & winemaking
The estate spans 26 hectares of organically farmed vines, perched on limestone-rich hillsides over 300 meters above sea level. The natural biodiversity, Mediterranean sun, and cooling winds allow for long, slow ripening and balanced fruit.
Manual harvests, ultra-low yields, long fermentations, and extended aging in large vessels (sometimes over 12–15 years) define the domaine’s slow, deliberate style. Nothing is rushed. Releases happen when the wine decides it is ready.
Wine style
Peyre Rose wines are bold, intense, and deeply expressive. Notes of black fruit, leather, spice, and wild herbs dominate, with a striking freshness beneath the richness. These are not wines for early consumption—they are built to evolve gracefully over decades.
Signature cuvées

Clos des Cistes – A Syrah-driven wine of smoky black fruit, earth, and great tension. Dark, structured, and endlessly ageable.
-
Syrah Léone – The flagship cuvée, legendary for its power and longevity. Often aged over a decade before release.
-
Marlène No. 3 – A more approachable blend with seductive richness and herbal complexity.
-
Oro – A rare white blend of Rolle and Roussanne, textured, saline and full of character.
A singular voice in French wine
Peyre Rose is a domain apart—iconic, reclusive, and unwavering in its principles. Marlène Soria’s wines are revered for their soul, individuality, and depth. They are wines to be collected, aged, and contemplated.
