Domaine de la Solitude – Age-old Tradition & Controlled Renewal

One of the Oldest Families of Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The Domaine de la Solitude is linked to the very history of the appellation: the Lançon family, winemakers since the 16th century, are among the oldest in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Today, Florent Lançon embodies a new generation, combining tradition and technical precision.

A Vineyard in Organic Conversion on Exceptional Terroirs

The estate spans 35 hectares in the heart of the best terroirs of rolled pebbles, red clay, and sands of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with also vines in Côtes-du-Rhône and IGP. The vineyard is managed in organic conversion, with great attention to the soil and biodiversity.

The grape variety reflects the richness of the south:

  • Grenache,

  • Syrah,

  • Mourvèdre,

  • Cinsault,

  • Clairette,

  • Roussanne,

  • and other indigenous grape varieties.

Parcel-Based Vinifications & Tailored Aging

The vinifications are meticulous, often by parcel or grape variety, with partial use of whole bunches for certain cuvées. The aging is adapted to each wine: Burgundy barrels, demi-muids, amphorae, or stainless steel vats depending on the desired profile.

House Style: Southern Finesse & Balance

The wines combine Mediterranean warmth with a surprising freshness, with elegant, deep reds, and floral and saline whites. The high-end cuvées offer a very good aging potential.

Iconic Cuvées

  • Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge: classic blend, generous and silky.

  • Réserve Secrète: high-end parcel-based cuvée (Grenache, Syrah), depth and nobility.

  • Barberini: structured red, aged in barrels, great aging potential.

  • Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc: expressive and tense Clairette-Roussanne.

  • Cuvée Trinita: prestige red cuvée from parcel selection.
