The discreet elegance of Lalande-de-Pomerol driven by precision viticulture

Located in the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation, just north of the prestigious Pomerol plateau, Château Lafon-La Tuilerie cultivates a sincere and meticulous approach. A family-owned property, the estate is currently managed by Jean-François Janoueix, a member of a well-known dynasty in the Libournais.

Terroir & grape varieties

The vineyard is situated on clay-gravel soils typical of Lalande-de-Pomerol, promoting good ripeness and a velvety expression of the fruit.
The grape varieties, centered on Merlot (about 80%), are complemented by Cabernet Franc and sometimes a hint of Cabernet Sauvignon, offering wines that are supple, round, yet well-structured.

Philosophy & winemaking

The work in the vineyard is rigorous, with a focus on sustainability and yield control. The winemaking process respects the typicity of the terroir, with careful aging in oak barrels (partially new), aiming to preserve the fruit while developing complexity and elegance.

Flagship cuvée

  • Château Lafon-La Tuilerie: the estate's unique wine, it expresses itself in a round, charming style, with aromas of ripe black fruits, violet, and toasted notes. On the palate, there is a beautiful suppleness, silky texture, and a spicy finish typical of the right bank.
