Domaine Elvio Cogno – Novello, Barolo (Piedmont)
The elegance of Nebbiolo and the soul of the Ravera cru, in the heart of the Langhe.
A family estate at the top of the Ravera cru
Founded in 1990 by Elvio Cogno, the estate is located in Novello, on the heights of the Ravera cru. Today, managed by his daughter Nadia and her husband Valter Fissore, it perpetuates four generations of Piedmontese winemaking tradition, combining precision, authenticity, and respect for the terroir.
An exceptional terroir
The vineyard extends over 15 hectares, mainly on the limestone soils of the Ravera cru. The ideal exposure and moderate altitude allow for the production of balanced grapes, with slow and complete ripening, ensuring great aromatic complexity.
Traditional vinification, contemporary precision
The estate favors long fermentations, gentle extractions, and prolonged aging in large oak barrels. Each cuvée is a faithful reflection of its plot, without embellishment, with minimal intervention in the cellar.
Wine style
Elvio Cogno's Barolos are elegant, chiseled, and deep. They feature aromas of cherry, dried rose, sweet spices, and licorice. On the palate: freshness, tannic precision, and remarkable length.
Iconic cuvées
Barolo Ravera: great purity, mineral intensity, and verticality.
Barolo Cascina Nuova: accessible, fruity, refined.
Barolo Bricco Pernice: confidential cuvée, dense and complex.
Barolo Riserva Vigna Elena: produced from a rare Nebbiolo clone (Rosé), noble and slender.
Langhe Nascetta "Anas-Cëtta": indigenous white wine, lively, saline, and floral.
