Domaine Fontaine‑Gagnard – The Elegance of Chardonnay in Côte de Beaune

A family-run estate of human scale
The Domaine Fontaine‑Gagnard is located in Chassagne-Montrachet and has been operated by a passionate family for several generations. With about 5 hectares of vineyards, the excellence of the terroirs takes precedence over volume. Each plot is carefully cultivated to best express its character.

Vineyard on prestigious climates
The estate covers appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet village, several Premiers Crus (Morgeot, Cailleret, Chassagne 1er cru), and plots in the neighboring Grands Crus of Puligny-Montrachet. This plot selection allows for a coherent and refined range.

Respectful vineyard work and manual harvesting
The management of the estate is cautious and reasoned: limited soil work, controlled grassing, reasoned treatments. Harvesting is exclusively manual, with quality sorting right from the vineyard.

Delicate vinification and balanced aging
The grapes are delicately pressed, then fermented in stainless steel tanks or barrels depending on the cuvée. Aging lasts between 12 and 16 months, with a moderate percentage of new wood. The goal is to preserve aromatic purity and mineral tension.

Signature style: finesse, purity, and precision
The white wines of Fontaine‑Gagnard are recognized for their freshness, elegant balance, and saline tension. The premiers crus offer depth and structure, while the villages are already clear, vibrant, and accessible when young.
