History & Terroir
Founded in 1792 in Balerna, in southern Ticino, Fratelli Corti is one of the oldest family-run wineries in the Mendrisiotto. Originally an inn, the estate gradually shifted toward wine production during the 19th century. Today, the generational transition has brought renewed energy and a technical focus, while preserving a deep respect for heritage.

Vineyard & Grape Varieties
The estate cultivates around 4.5 hectares of vines across Mendrisiotto and Sottoceneri. Merlot is the leading red grape, joined by Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Marselan. For whites, Chardonnay, Doral, and Kerner thrive in the region’s sunny yet cool climate, ideal for aromatic precision.

Winemaking Philosophy
Vinification is centered on gentle extraction, precise maceration, and careful oak aging in French barrels. Minimal intervention allows each variety and plot to express itself. The goal is to craft clean, balanced wines that reflect the Ticino terroir with clarity and elegance.

Wine Style
Red wines show structure, smooth tannins, and vibrant freshness. Whites are crisp, floral, and marked by a distinct minerality. Across the range, the style is defined by precision, restraint, and terroir-driven expression.

Signature Wines

• Tre Corti Merlot — structured red with notes of dark fruit and forest floor, smooth and generous palate.

• Corti 1792 Spumante — méthode traditionnelle blanc de blancs, fine bubbles, aromas of dried fruit and white flowers.

• Stria Bianca — unique white blend (Chardonnay, Doral, Kerner), barrel fermented, rich yet mineral with a saline finish.
