Heritage tradition, aromatic finesse, and classic expression
Former property of the Allegrini family, Chiericati symbolizes the viticultural history of Veneto for several centuries. Located in the hills of Fumane, at the heart of the appellation, the estate spans 10 hectares of vineyard, on marl and pebble soils, at an altitude of 350 to 450 m. The wines express the elegance, freshness, and consistency of the cool climate of these high slopes.
Terroir & grape varieties
The soils, composed of limestone marls and rolled pebbles, offer good drainage and a natural freshness ideal for Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, and a bit of Oseleta. These grape varieties are planted densely, ensuring concentration and aromatic persistence.
Viticulture & winemaking
Sustainable viticulture, manual harvesting, precise sorting of the bunches. The fermentations are long, at controlled temperature. The Amarone benefits from 120 to 150 days of drying, followed by aging of 24 to 30 months in Slavonian casks/or barrels, for a supple and fine structure.
Style & aging
Valpolicella Classico Superiore: fresh, fruity (cherry, almond), light body, perfect balance between vigor and softness. To be consumed from 3–5 years.
Amarone Classico: rich, complex, aromas of black cherry, cocoa, tobacco, and fine spices; noble tannins, great aging potential (10 to 25 years depending on the vintage).
Iconic cuvées
Chiericati Valpolicella Classico Superiore
Chiericati Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
Allegrini Amarone (sometimes co-aged on certain plots, more elitist cuvée)
