Created in the 1990s by the Gori family, located in the hills near Florence, Capannelle stands out for its modern approach focused on noble grape varieties. The estate covers about 40 hectares, mainly planted with Syrah and Sangiovese, at high altitudes (350–450 m), in an environment that promotes freshness and complexity.
Capannelle practices sustainable viticulture with manual harvesting and moderate yields. Fermentation is conducted by parcel, with grape sorting, indigenous yeasts, and controlled temperature. Aging is done in French barrels and amphorae depending on the lines, with some wines benefiting from extended aging for more structure and length.
Syrah Capannelle: expressive Syrah, spicy, notes of dark fruits, licorice, and violet, structured and elegant.
Il Querce: high-end version based on Syrah, more concentrated, long-aged.
Chianti Classico: fruity and fresh, perfectly balanced, for more immediate consumption.
Vittoria: rare blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet, rich and harmonious, highly appreciated.
Limited Chardonnay and Viognier: carefully crafted whites, fresh, with a mineral finish.
The wines of Capannelle combine freshness, finesse, and Mediterranean character. The Syrahs are spicy and dynamic, the Chianti and blends demonstrate balance and terroir, with a modern, accessible, and age-worthy profile.
