Born from the visionary ambition of Bernard Magrez, an essential figure in the wine world, Château Magrez Fombrauge is a confidential gem of Saint-Émilion, born from the absolute quest for perfection. On an exceptional terroir, this micro-estate gives birth to a rare cuvée, with a style as intense as it is elegant.
Founded in the early 2000s, Château Magrez Fombrauge benefits from the same rigor as the other exceptional wines of the owner, including Château Pape Clément or Clos Haut-Peyraguey. This is a micro-vineyard of 1.96 ha, cultivated like a garden, with extreme care given to each vine.
Planted on a clay-limestone soil typical of the plateau, the old vines of Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Franc (30%) take root in a powerful terroir, capable of producing wines of exceptional depth. The planting density and ultra-limited yields ensure a natural concentration.
Château Magrez Fombrauge captivates with its aromatic brilliance, its dense and velvety texture, and a mineral freshness that gives it balance and remarkable aging potential. It is a Saint-Émilion both distinguished and sensual, crafted for lovers of great precision wines.
Château Magrez Fombrauge: produced in extremely limited quantities, this confidential wine is crafted in a spirit of haute couture, where every detail counts – from manual harvesting to aging in meticulously selected new oak barrels.
Bernard Magrez signs here an ultra-quality project, with parcel-based, gravity-fed, uncompromising vinification. The soil work is manual, the grapes sorted berry by berry, the fermentations conducted in small thermo-regulated vats. The aging, exclusively in new barrels, aims to sublimate the purity of the fruit without masking it.
