Domaine Philippe Charlopin — Modern flair meets Burgundian soul

Since the 1970s, Philippe Charlopin has stood out in the Côte de Nuits for his bold, fruit-forward style. Trained under the legendary Henri Jayer, he brought a new energy to Burgundian winemaking—emphasizing concentration, ripeness, and thoughtful aging. Now joined by his son Yann, Charlopin continues to push boundaries while honoring the heritage of his vines.

The estate spans over 25 hectares, from Gevrey-Chambertin to Chablis.

Vineyard & cellar philosophy

The vines are cultivated with environmental respect, focusing on low yields and full phenolic maturity. Vinifications often include partial whole-cluster fermentation, long macerations, and restrained use of new oak. The result: wines that are deep, polished, and full of life.

Wine style

Charlopin wines are generous and aromatic, with intense black fruit, floral notes, spice, and velvety tannins. They are structured yet accessible, made to drink well both young and aged. The style is both modern and rooted in terroir.
