Domaine Fourrier – The Delicacy of Burgundy Pinot Noir
Family Heritage & Personal Vision
Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Fourrier is led by Jean-Marie Fourrier, who continues a family tradition while bringing a modern and intuitive approach. Since the 1990s, he has imposed a vision focused on purity of expression and respect for the grape.
Old Vines & Prestigious Terroirs
The estate exclusively works with vines aged 30 to 80 years, spread over approximately 9 hectares. It owns prestigious plots in Gevrey-Chambertin (including the mythical Clos Saint-Jacques), as well as in Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis, and Vougeot.
Natural Viticulture and Careful Harvesting
Viticultural practices are clean, without herbicides or aggressive treatments. The vine is cared for year-round to produce healthy grapes, harvested manually at full maturity, with rigorous sorting in the field.
Gentle Vinification & Minimal Intervention
Jean-Marie Fourrier favors gentle fermentations, without violent punching down. The wines are neither fined nor filtered, and aging is done with little new wood (generally less than 20%) to preserve the fruit and finesse of the vintage.
Style: Elegance, Energy, and Precision
The wines of the estate shine with their aromatic brilliance, silky mouthfeel, and great readability of the terroir. They are refined, pure wines, always tense and digestible, with a beautiful aging potential.
