Founded in 2001 from the meeting between François Lurton, a pioneer of great terroir wines internationally, and Michel Rolland, a globally recognized oenologist, Bodegas Campo Eliseo embodies a unique philosophy: to express the richness of Spanish indigenous grape varieties through rigorous viticulture and Bordeaux-inspired winemaking. The estate claims an artisanal, organic, and plot-specific approach, aiming for a balance between power, finesse, and soil readability.
Their vision is carried out daily by Olivier Trégoat, technical director, who ensures the precision of actions, from the vineyard to bottling. Campo Eliseo advocates for deep, structured wines without heaviness, always guided by tension and elegance.
Located between the Toro and Rueda appellations, the winery reveals two complementary faces of Spanish viticulture. In Toro, the gravelly and sandy soils, under a continental climate, offer the Tinta de Toro grape a natural concentration that long and careful winemaking refines. In Rueda, the high altitude and limestone soils give rise to mineral, precise, and vibrant Verdejo.
The vines are managed using organic farming, sometimes biodynamic, and each micro-plot is vinified separately. The aging varies according to the wine's profile: French oak barrels, concrete eggs, or stainless steel tanks.
Campo Eliseo – Toro: an age-worthy red wine, dense, aged for a long time in noble wood.
Campo Alegre – Toro: more immediate, supple, with vibrant dark fruits.
Campo Eliseo – Rueda: a great white Verdejo, ample and saline, crafted for gastronomy.
Campo Alegre – Rueda: fresher and floral, ideal for young consumption.
