Domaine Pierre Morey — Burgundy tradition in its purest form
Based in the village of Meursault, Domaine Pierre Morey is a benchmark estate in Burgundy. Pierre Morey, former cellar master at Domaine Leflaive, established his family estate in 1971. Today, alongside his daughter Anne, he continues to produce deeply expressive wines with humility and precision.
The domaine spans 11 hectares across Meursault, Monthelie, Pommard, and Puligny-Montrachet. A true pioneer of biodynamics in Burgundy, Pierre Morey converted the entire estate in 1997, seeking purity and truth in every wine.
Philosophy and winemaking
Viticulture is meticulous and respectful of nature. In the cellar, fermentations occur with indigenous yeasts, and whites are gently pressed before aging in neutral oak barrels. Reds are macerated with care, avoiding excessive extraction. New oak is used sparingly to let the terroir shine.
Each wine is a faithful reflection of its origin — transparent, balanced, and timeless.
Wine style
Pierre Morey wines are known for their clarity, focus, and longevity. The whites are archetypes of Meursault: textured yet vibrant, with tension, depth, and salty minerality. The reds, often overlooked, are fresh, floral, and elegant, with pure fruit and gentle structure.
These are honest, age-worthy wines that speak softly but with lasting impact.
Signature cuvées
Meursault – The domaine’s flagship, showing classic orchard fruit, hazelnut, and stony tension.
Meursault 1er Cru Perrières – One of Burgundy’s finest whites: racy, mineral, and long-lived.
Pommard 1er Cru Les Grands Epenots – Structured Pinot Noir with refined tannins and intense red fruit.
Monthelie Rouge – Delicate, floral Pinot from a lesser-known appellation. Charming and drinkable.
A discreet but essential Burgundy estate
Domaine Pierre Morey exemplifies the soul of Burgundy: authenticity, precision, and deep respect for terroir. Quietly, without fanfare, it continues to craft wines that stand among the most honest and enduring on the Côte de Beaune.
