Domaine Château de Ferrand – High-altitude Terroir & Modern Precision

A Historic Site Between Heritage & Renewal

Founded in the 18th century by Élie de Bétoulaud, Château de Ferrand remained in two families before joining the Bich dynasty in 1977 (founder of Bic). Today, Pauline Bich-Chandon Moët and Philippe Chandon-Moët manage the estate, supported by Gonzague de Lambert since 2017 .

32 ha of Vines on an Exceptional Clay-Limestone Plateau

The vineyard stretches over a continuous block planted at ~100 m altitude on clay-limestone soils, benefiting from good ventilation and optimal drainage . The grape varieties: 70% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon .

A Demanding & Responsible Viticultural Approach

Organic conversion started in 2021, Terra Vitis certifications (2012), HVE level 3 (2018), and ISO 14001 . Mechanical plowing, grassed inter-rows, four successive selections (vine, reception, optical, vat room), work on each plot separately .

Meticulous Vinification & Aging

Rigorous sorting followed by gravity vinification, parcel-based fermentation, aging in French barrels for 14 to 18 months . Intervention in the cellar remains discreet, respecting the expression of each terroir .

Signature Style: Structure, Finesse & Purity

The wines combine silky texture, ripe fruit, saline acidity, floral and spicy elegance. The 2021 offers a soft attack, polished tannins, and a beautiful length on finesse . Estimated aging potential of 15–20 years, peak between 8–10 years .
