Founded in 1936 in Piedmont and Apulia, Cantine Antonio Ferrari is renowned for its extraordinary wines, bottled decades ago and preserved as living treasures of time. Inspired by the founder's artistic vision, the house today offers a selection of old vintages, including old Primitivo and our few rare whites, preserved under special conditions to maintain their life and quality.
Antonio Ferrari rejected the intensive use of new wood, believing it could alter the essence of the wine, comparable to a distortion of a work of art. Fermentations took place in traditional vats, then the wines were left to age slowly in bottle in unique “time capsules.” Today, the house continues to awaken these old wines, offering living and expressive bottles, an authentic reflection of visionary craftsmanship.
“Il '49”: Single-variety Primitivo from 1949, with an intensely ruby cover still fresh, featuring aromas of black cherry, exotic spices, chocolate, and coffee.
Il Barone 54: Concentrated vintage 1954, with notes of very ripe fruits, aromatic herbs, cocoa, graphite, and licorice, with a rich and evolving expression.
Solaria Jonica: Old Primitivo wines, sweet or creamy, often aged or concentrated, sought after for their silky texture and depth.
These wines are living capsules of history, combining aromatic richness, velvety texture, elegance, and presence. They reveal a singular intensity—spices, candied fruits, notes of leather, cocoa—and a surprising freshness for their age. Intended for enthusiasts, collectors, and connoisseurs, these rare treasures embody a timeless sensory experience.
