Founded in 2000 in Anguix, in the heart of Ribera del Duero, Bodegas Los Astrales was born from the initiative of the Romera de la Cruz family, winemakers for several generations. From the beginning, the project has been accompanied by Eduardo García, a talented oenologist trained by his father Mariano García (former of Vega Sicilia and founder of Mauro), who instills a style that is both pure, deep, and balanced.

The philosophy of the estate is based on sustainable viticulture, very low yields, and a desire to produce high-altitude Tempranillos, chiseled and elegant, revealing with precision the character of each vintage. The intervention in the cellar is minimalist: everything is designed to let the terroir fully express itself.

Terroir & vinification

The 30-hectare vineyard is mainly composed of old vines of Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), some over 80 years old. Planted between 800 and 900 meters of altitude, on clay-limestone and sandy soils, they benefit from cool nights that enhance acidity and fruit brightness.

The harvest is manual in boxes, with rigorous sorting. Fermentations take place in small stainless steel and concrete vats, with indigenous yeasts. Aging is done in fine-grained French barrels, often lightly toasted, to preserve finesse and verticality.

Emblematic cuvées

  • Los Astrales Crianza: the heart of the range, ripe, structured, precise, with silky tannins.

  • Astrales Lunas: a more accessible cuvée, focused on pure fruit and freshness.

  • Astrales Christina: a micro-parcel cuvée, from the oldest vines of the estate, produced only in great years. A racy and complex wine for aging.
