Domaine du Mont d’Or – Sancerre blanc et rouge au sommet du terroir

A family estate in the heart of the Loire
The Domaine du Mont d’Or is a family estate established in Sancerre for several generations. Carefully passed down, it is now managed by the fifth generation, committed to showcasing the unique terroirs of the Loire.

Diverse vineyard on flint and limestone terroirs
The estate covers about 14 hectares divided between Sancerre Blanc (Sauvignon Blanc) and Sancerre Rouge (Pinot Noir). The vines are planted on soils rich in flint and clay-limestone, giving the wines tension, minerality, and character.

Respectful viticulture and manual harvesting
Viticulture is conducted in a sustainable manner, with light soil work, limited natural treatments, and exclusively manual harvesting, allowing for optimal grape selection.

Precise winemaking with adapted aging
Sancerre Blanc: delicate pressing, fermentation in stainless steel tanks at low temperature, aging on fine lees.
Sancerre Rouge: short to medium maceration in stainless steel tanks, partial aging in barrels for 6 to 12 months depending on the vintage.
The approach aims to preserve the aromatic purity and freshness of the fruit.

Signature style: freshness, finesse, and expression of the terroir
The wines of Mont d’Or are distinguished by their elegance, mineral tension, and natural balance. The white reveals citrus, white florals, and a taut profile ideal for aperitifs and seafood. The red, more confidential, offers notes of cherry, small red fruits, mild spices, and a beautiful amplitude.

Iconic cuvées:

  • Classic Sancerre Blanc: lively, saline, perfectly balanced

  • Sancerre Blanc “Terroir de silex”: mineral, tense, long finish

  • Sancerre Rouge: fresh, silky, fruity

  • Sancerre Rosé (occasional): floral, indulgent, and summery
