Domaine François Lamarche – Authentic Expression of the Côte de Nuits
An Intimate Tradition of Terroir
Located in Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine François Lamarche is run by a passionate family that cultivates about 7 hectares of old Pinot Noir vines, some planted several decades ago. The estate favors respectful viticulture, without artifice.
Exceptional Plots
The vines extend over sought-after climates: Gevrey-Chambertin Village, several Premier Crus (on the borders of Clos Saint-Jacques), as well as Morey-Saint-Denis village. The plot selection reveals the diversity of the region's clay-limestone soils.
Careful Viticulture & Manual Harvesting
The estate practices regular soil work, controlled grassing, and natural treatments. The harvest is manual, followed by strict sorting in the plot to ensure optimal grape quality.
Precise Vinification & Adapted Aging
Fermentations take place in stainless steel or concrete vats, with gentle pump-overs. Aging, about 12 to 18 months, is done in oak barrels (15–30% new wood), respecting the expression of the fruit and terroir, without excessive woodiness.
Style: Depth, Finesse & Balance
The red wines are marked by aromatic complexity: small black fruits, sweet spices, mineral notes, and fine tannic tension. They immediately combine richness and finesse, while being able to age for 15 to 20 years.
Characteristic Cuvées:
