The elegant meeting between Bordeaux tradition and contemporary signature
Nestled on the right bank, in the heart of Pomerol, Château Le Bon Pasteur is a small estate, appreciated for its pure and refined style. Owned by the Malle family, it is now managed by Till Druckmann (general manager) with the vineyard supervised by Vincent Despontin (technical director) and the oenologist Sarah Renaudie, committed to meticulous viticulture and thoughtful winemaking.
Terroir & grape varieties
The estate covers about 5 hectares of rare gravel mixed with deep clays, on well-exposed slopes. The Merlot (~90%), planted on the best plots, is complemented by Cabernet Franc (~10%), ensuring finesse, tension, and aromatic complexity.
Philosophy & winemaking
Respectful viticulture with manual harvesting, strict sorting, and plot management. The winemaking is temperature-controlled, with long macerations and aging in French oak barrels (~50% new) for 16 to 18 months, to ensure structure, elegance, and typicity of the terroir.
Iconic cuvées
Château Le Bon Pasteur: the grand wine, expressive and refined, with notes of black fruits, violet, graphite, and noble earth. Velvety texture, racy tannins, and very good aging potential.
La Caprice de Pasteur: a more accessible second wine, fruity and floral, ready to drink young while respecting the identity of the estate.
