Located on the heights of Colombier, between lake and mountains, the Domaine de Chambleau embodies the new generation of great Swiss wines. On these historic lands of the canton of Neuchâtel, the Monachon family has been crafting precise, inspired wines with a distinctive style, resolutely looking to the future for several generations.

A family story, an author's vision

Founded in 1913, the estate experienced a decisive turning point with Michel Monachon, a charismatic figure of the Neuchâtel wine revival. Today, it is Jean-Marc Monachon, supported by the new generation, who continues the family work with rare dedication, combining terroir, innovation, and respect for natural rhythms.

A unique terroir between lake and Jura

The vineyard extends over approximately 17 hectares, planted on clay-limestone slopes perfectly exposed to the south and bathed by the light of Lake Neuchâtel. This exceptional terroir, tempered by the lake climate, produces wines with a beautiful mineral tension, with bright fruit and remarkable natural balances.

A pure, modern, and structured style

The wines of Chambleau are recognized for their straightness, aromatic precision, and depth of palate. The Pinot Noirs are tense, racy, vibrant; the whites (Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc) combine freshness and maturity. The work in the cellar favors indigenous yeasts, gentle extractions, and long aging in barrels or amphorae depending on the cuvées.

Iconic cuvées

  • Le Pinot Noir Réserve: fine, silky, intensely fruity, with a beautiful length.

  • Le Chardonnay Signature: subtle aging, buttery notes, and saline minerality.

  • L’Œil-de-Perdrix: great purity, pale color, delicate red fruits, fresh finish.

  • Sauvignon Blanc: crystalline profile, citrus and fine herb aromas.

  • Gamaret – Aged in barrels: structure, soft spices, gourmet richness.

An artisanal and sustainable philosophy

The cultivation is conducted according to the principles of integrated viticulture, with practices respectful of biodiversity. The estate focuses on an artisanal approach, where each cuvée is conceived as a sincere expression of the vintage and the place. Chambleau is the noble, vibrant, and daring face of today's Swiss viticulture.
