A family story and transmission
Born in 1980 from the union of Jean-Marc Blain, originally from Sancerre, and Claudine Gagnard, heir to a winemaking lineage from Chassagne-Montrachet, the Blain-Gagnard estate perpetuates a centuries-old tradition with rigor and discretion. It now extends over approximately 8 hectares, with a mosaic of plots spread among the finest terroirs of the Côte de Beaune, in both white and red.

Prestigious terroirs, a respectful approach
The estate possesses an exceptional heritage, including three white Grands Crus (Le Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet), several emblematic Premiers Crus in Chassagne-Montrachet (Clos Saint-Jean, Morgeot, Boudriotte, Caillerets), as well as superb plots in Puligny-Montrachet, Volnay, and Pommard. Viticulture is conducted with care, in a logic of respect for the soil and the plant, without certification but with constant rigor.

Precise vinifications, tailor-made aging
Vinifications are traditional and non-interventionist. The whites ferment and age in oak barrels, with a measured proportion of new wood (10 to 30% depending on the cuvée), on fine lees for 10 to 12 months. The reds, from destemmed harvests, ferment slowly in concrete vats before gentle aging in used barrels, without excessive extraction or wood. Each wine is designed to express the identity of its climate.

Signature style: balance, minerality, and distinction
The whites are distinguished by their aromatic purity, mineral tension, and structured elegance. The reds display a classic style, all in finesse, with supple tannins, beautiful fruit intensity, and a freshness that prolongs the palate. All the wines of the estate shine by their accuracy of expression and their aging potential.
