The mineral elegance of Burgundy Chardonnay in a setting of precision
Since its acquisition in 2012 by Etienne de Montille, a respected figure in Burgundy, the Château de Puligny-Montrachet has shifted towards purity and biodynamics. Under the guidance of the talented Benoît Riffault, technical director, the estate rigorously and finely expresses the quintessence of Chardonnay on the best terroirs of Puligny.

Terroir & grape varieties: chalky limestone and Chardonnay
The estate spans 12 ha, mainly in the Puligny-Montrachet appellation, with renowned plots in Village and Premier Cru (Les Perrières, Les Folatières). The clay-limestone soils rich in active limestone and moderate altitude impart a salivating tension to the wines. 100% Chardonnay.

Viticulture & philosophy: biodynamics and precision
Since 2015, the entire estate has been managed under certified biodynamics. Respectful soil work, manual harvesting, rigorous selection. The goal is to reveal each locality with clarity, without artifice, respecting natural cycles.

Vinification & aging: vertical purity and saline finesse
Slow and gentle pressing of whole clusters. Slow fermentation in French oak barrels, 20–40% new depending on the cuvées. Aging on fine lees for 12 to 18 months, without excessive stirring. The objective: to preserve texture and mineral straightness.

Iconic cuvées

  • Puligny-Montrachet Village: aromas of ripe pear, white flowers, a slight touch of almond, straight palate and salivating finish.

  • Premier Cru Les Perrières: crystalline, fresh citrus, flint, chiseled and very tense palate.

  • Premier Cru Les Folatières: airy charm, floral, notes of hazelnut and fresh butter, with a persistent limestone background.
