Based in Vosne-Romanee, Bruno Clavelier represents the fifth generation of winemakers. A former rugby player and a qualified oenologist, he took over the family estate in 1987 and plays a key role in its modernization: acquisition of plots, renovated cellar, bottling line.
Philosophy & winemaking
The estate has been certified organic since 2005 and follows biodynamic principles. Viticulture is conducted with rigor, with adapted vines (several decades old), manual harvesting, and fermentations using indigenous yeasts in open vats or barrels. The aging lasts 16–18 months, in French oak barrels (30% new for major crus), without filtration.
Iconic cuvées
Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux Monts VV: A rich, aromatic Premier Cru with deep tannins and an elegant texture.
Various Premiers Crus: Les Beaux Monts, Aux Brûlées, La Combe d’Orveau (Chambolle-Musigny), Les Corbeaux (Gevrey), and Corton Le Rognet (Côte de Beaune).
Bourgogne Blanc/Aligoté or Rouge: young vines, energy, and clarity of Pinot Noir or Chardonnay.
Wine style
The wines are characterized by an aromatic purity, silky tannins, and elegant freshness. Each cru reflects the terroir precisely. Bruno Clavelier's wines combine precision, structure, and aging potential, embodying the charming and racy style of the Côte de Nuits.
