A legendary estate founded in 1909

Armand Rousseau launched the estate at the age of 18, using his marriage to acquire his first prestigious plots (Charmes-Chambertin, Chambertin, Clos de la Roche...) and initiating bottling under his own name as early as the 1930s, pioneering export to the USA after prohibition .

Exceptional terroirs and viticultural heritage

The estate now covers approximately 14-15 ha, including ~8.5 ha in Grands Crus (Chambertin, Clos-de-Bèze, Ruchottes, Mazis, Clos-de-la-Roche), 4 ha in Premiers Crus and 2-3 ha in village .

Precise and traditional philosophy

Old vines (40-45 years), plowing, debudding, and manual harvesting. Vinifications combine careful pressing, aging in barrels (60% new in GC), inclusion of whole clusters (~10-15%), and gentle maceration at controlled temperature .

Style: elegance, power, and tension

The wines, 100% Pinot Noir, are renowned for their remarkable balance: silky tannic structure, vibrant acidity, deep red fruits, minerality, and aging energy .

Alliance of past and modernity

The Rousseau family – Armand, Charles, and now Eric with Cyrielle – ensures continuity, combining respect for the terroir and innovations in sustainable viticulture, without abandoning tradition
