Domaine du Clos Naudin – Tradition, precision and grandeur in Vouvray
An emblematic family estate of Vouvray
Located in Vouvray, on the right bank of the Loire, Domaine du Clos Naudin is managed by Vincent Foreau, heir to a lineage of passionate winemakers. Founded by his father Gaston Foreau in 1910, the estate is today an absolute reference for lovers of great Chenin Blancs.
Tuffeau terroir and Loire exposure
The 12 hectares of the estate are planted exclusively with Chenin Blanc, on clay-limestone and tuffeau soils, characteristic of the Vouvray terroir. The exposure of the plots allows optimal maturity, essential for the production of wines that are both straight, ample, and of great longevity.
Non-certified organic viticulture, demanding work
Without being certified organic, the estate applies viticulture that respects the soil and the vine: no herbicides or synthetic pesticides, manual harvesting, meticulous sorting. Rigor in the vineyard is an absolute priority.
Slow and natural vinifications
Fermentations take place in old barrels, sometimes for several months. The use of sulfur is minimal. The wines are neither yeasted nor chaptalized. Each cuvée expresses the uniqueness of the vintage and the hand of the winemaker with remarkable precision.
Signature style: minerality, straightness, and exceptional aging potential
The wines of Clos Naudin are renowned for their aromatic purity (citrus, quince, honey, white flowers), their mineral tension, and their extraordinary aging capacity — sometimes several decades. Dry, semi-dry, sweet, or sparkling, all styles are represented.
Emblematic cuvées:
Vouvray Sec: chiseled, tense, great purity
Vouvray Demi-Sec: subtle balance between freshness and sweetness
Vouvray Moelleux: richness, botrytis, meditation wine
Vouvray Méthode Traditionnelle: fine bubbles, great finesse
