An expressive treasure of Pomerol elegance
Château Clinet, an emblematic estate of Pomerol, overlooks great neighbors like Château Pétrus. Since the mid-20th century, it has been managed by the Florian family, who have driven a demanding and modern vision while preserving the winemaking tradition. The estate combines refinement, power, and accessibility, and is among the reliable values of the appellation.

Prestigious terroir on clay-gravel plateau
The vineyard extends over about 22 hectares, planted on deep gravel soils mixed with clay, typical of the Pomerol plateau. The favored exposure and natural drainage lead to beautiful grape maturity and dense, structured, and intensely aromatic wines.

Grape variety & controlled viticulture
The grape variety is centered on Merlot (about 95%), with a touch of Cabernet Franc (5%) bringing freshness and complexity. The vineyard management is attentive: careful pruning, leaf thinning to preserve balance, manual harvesting with very strict sorting at the winery, ensuring impeccable quality.

Thoughtful vinification & sophisticated aging
The grapes are placed in wooden or stainless steel vats with gentle pump-overs and long macerations of 3 to 4 weeks to extract aromas and structure. The aging lasts 16 to 20 months in French oak barrels, about 50% to 60% of which are new. The style is built on power, tension, and elegance, while maintaining the aromatic finesse of Merlot.

Remarkable style & cuvées

  • Château Clinet: deep purple robe, intense bouquet around black cherry, truffle, cocoa, and incense. The palate, ample and silky, unfolds round tannins, delicate freshness, and a long licorice finish. A wine for aging, rich and refined.

  • Angle de Clinet: second cuvée produced in certain years, more accessible and fruity, offering a lighter yet always elegant glimpse of the estate's DNA.
