A great powerful and deep wine driven by family excellence
Owned by the Delon family for several generations, the estate is now managed by Christelle Delon, with the support of Marc de Levisson, vineyard manager, and Philippe Dambrine, consulting oenologist since 2018. Together, they maintain a quest for elegant power and expressive purity, typical of the Pomerol plateau.
Terroir & grape varieties: deep gravel and richness of Merlot
The estate extends over 7 ha of well-drained clay-gravel soils, with a limestone subsoil favorable to concentration. The grape composition is 90% Merlot, complemented by 10% Cabernet Franc to structure and bring elegance.
Viticulture & philosophy: precision and respect vintage after vintage
Sustainable viticulture, manual harvesting with strict sorting in small crates, controlled yields for optimal concentration. The management is gradually moving towards organic farming, aiming to enhance the typicity of the terroir without artifice.
Vinification & aging: controlled extraction and tannic finesse
Traditional fermentations in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, long macerations of 4 to 5 weeks with gentle pump-overs. Aging for 18 to 22 months in French barrels (60% new), to combine aromatic richness, silky tannins, and great aging potential.
Iconic cuvées
– Château l’Église‑Clinet (Grand Vin): dense and deep, aromas of black cherry, blueberry, truffle, and fine spices. Powerful yet elegant tannins, balance between structure and freshness, long saline finish.
– Cabernet de Clinet (second wine): velvety and accessible, aromas of fresh red fruits, light spices, to be enjoyed in its youth.
