Fratelli Alessandria — Timeless Treasure of Verduno

History & Terroir
Fratelli Alessandria is a historic estate in Verduno, Piedmont, founded in the early 19th century and owned by the family since 1870. The winery, housed in an 18th‑century residence, reflects generations of winemaking heritage. Today, Gian Battista, his brother Alessandro, his wife Flavia, and son Vittore (eighth generation) carry forward this legacy with dedication.

Vineyard & Grape Varieties
The estate spans approximately 12 to 15 hectares across Verduno and Monforte d’Alba, in premier sites like Monvigliero, San Lorenzo, and Gramolere. Red grapes include Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Barbera, and the native Pelaverga. White varieties include Favorita and occasionally Chardonnay.

Winemaking Philosophy
Practicing organic farming (without certification), the estate exclusively vinifies its estate-grown grapes with natural fermentations in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Wines undergo extended maceration and aging in large Slavonian or French oak casks. Barolos are produced as single‑cru, while cuvées labeled “Barolo del Comune di Verduno” are village-level blends.

Wine Style
Wines are marked by elegance, finesse, and balance, faithfully expressing their terroir. Barolos offer structured refinement, the Langhe Nebbiolo ‘Prinsiot’ is graceful and harmonious, and Pelaverga brings floral and spicy notes.
