Sweet luxury, golden glow, and liqueur-like elegance

Cru Classé of 1855 located in the Sauternes appellation, Château Rabaud-Promis spans approximately 100 hectares of vines planted on gravel and clay under the influence of the Garonne, benefiting from the morning freshness conducive to Botrytis. Owned by the Promis-Lurton family, it is currently managed by Count Olivier Promis, supported by a team of experts in the vinification of sweet Bordeaux wines.

Terroir & grape varieties

The vineyard rests on fine gravel soils mixed with white clay, with the climatic influence of grape morning fog. The majority blend includes Sémillon (≈80%), Sauvignon Blanc (≈15%), and sometimes Muscadelle (≈5%), planted at medium-high density to optimize concentration and botrytic maturity.

Meticulous viticulture

Parcel-based viticulture with sustainable management, entirely manual harvesting in several successive passes to collect only the clusters affected by noble rot at perfect maturity. Particular attention is paid to the aromatic balance and texture to preserve freshness, sweetness, and finesse.

Vinification & liqueur-like aging

Slow vinification in small stainless steel vats or old barrels, with frequent top-ups during fermentation. Aging lasts 18 to 24 months in French barrels (≈30–40% new wood), punctuated by successive blends to refine the sugar-acidity balance.

Style & emblematic cuvée

Château Rabaud-Promis: deep golden robe, complex nose of honey, candied apricot, saffron, white flowers, with a saline touch. On the palate, the attack is sweet, followed by a beautiful acidic freshness, velvety texture, notes of candied citrus, and a long, refined finish. Aging potential of 20 to 40 years, capable of remarkable evolutions over the decades.
