Between Pétrus and Cheval Blanc, elegance in its purest form.

A jewel of the Pomerol plateau

Château L’Évangile is among the greatest names on the right bank of Bordeaux. Nestled between two wine monuments – Pétrus to the north and Cheval Blanc to the south, it benefits from an exceptional terroir that only a few estates can claim.

Originating from soil rich in deep clays and fine gravel, L’Évangile offers a wine with a silky texture, remarkable aromatic depth, and an impressive aging potential.

A noble blend:

  • Merlot (70%) – the heart of the style, voluptuous flesh, and dense black fruit.

  • Cabernet Franc (30%) – floral touch, liveliness, and length.

The grape variety is adapted to the terroir and the desired style: a wine of great elegance, precise and structured.

The style of the wine

This is not a demonstrative Pomerol. L’Évangile plays the card of distinction. Upon opening, it charms with its notes of violet, truffle, blackberry, sometimes precious wood. On the palate: refinement, balance, and racy length.

Vintages to watch:

  • 2009: grandiose, fleshy, ready to drink or to keep.

  • 2015: purity of fruit, masterful balance.

  • 2020: very promising, with rare intensity.

An engaged viticulture

Since 2021, the Château is certified in organic farming. Special attention is paid to biodiversity (installation of beehives, plant cover, plot-based approach), and a transition to biodynamics is underway.

High fashion winemaking

  • Parcel-based vinifications in thermoregulated concrete vats.

  • Aging for 18 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which are new.

  • A second wine, Blason de L’Évangile, is produced to offer a more immediate expression of the estate.

Why choose a bottle of Château L’Évangile?

  • For the purity of its style: never heavy, always just right.

  • For its qualitative proximity to the greatest of Pomerol, at a (still) affordable price.

  • For the reliable value it represents in the cellar as well as on the table.

  • Because it is sought after by enthusiasts worldwide, with limited production.

A high-class Pomerol to offer... or to keep preciously.
