A story of passion, born in the shadow of Sine Qua Non
The Andremily estate was founded in 2012 by Jim Binns, the right-hand man of Manfred Krankl at the legendary Sine Qua Non estate for over ten years. With this unique experience at one of California's most iconic estates, Binns decided to create his own legend, in homage to his son Andrew and his daughter Emily — whose names form the name Andremily.
From the first vintage, Andremily established itself as an absolute reference for exceptional Syrah, praised by critics and sought after by enthusiasts worldwide.
A Californian terroir sculpted for Syrah
The grapes come from carefully selected plots in the Santa Barbara region, particularly on the windy and coastal sites of Santa Ynez Valley, Ballard Canyon, Santa Maria, and Edna Valley.
These areas offer an ideal combination: cool climates, morning fogs, poor and well-drained soils. Perfect conditions to express the depth and freshness of Syrah, without excess heat or ripeness.
A powerful, racy style, yet always controlled
Andremily produces wines of great richness, structured, sometimes explosive, but always carried by a fresh framework and a vibrant energy. They combine Californian opulence with a quasi-Bordeaux precision in blending and aging.
Each wine is a work of art in itself: dense, sculpted, uncompromising, yet always readable and elegant.
Philosophy and winemaking
Manual harvesting, rigorous sorting
Fermentations in concrete or stainless steel tanks, with precise punch-downs and pump-overs
Long aging (up to 24 months) in mostly new French oak barrels
Complex blends with sometimes a touch of Mourvèdre or Viognier, depending on the cuvées
Jim Binns does not seek to copy Sine Qua Non, but to explore his own vision: a signature Syrah, intense yet straight, crafted for aging as well as immediate emotion.
Iconic cuvées
Andremily Syrah: the estate's flagship cuvée, combining power, aromatic richness, and freshness. It rivals the great Hermitage in a Californian expression.
EABA (End All Be All): an iconoclastic and ambitious cuvée, made from a Syrah-Mourvèdre-Viognier blend, very limited, sought after, and rated at the top.
Mourvèdre: a confidential, ultra-racy single-vineyard cuvée, revealing another facet of the house.
Grenache: the estate's latest addition, already considered one of the best expressions of the grape variety in California.
