CNP 1991 - domaine Henri Bonneau
Henri Bonneau Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2010
Mature, traditionally styled Southern Rhône red, predominantly Grenache, showing the unmistakable signature of Henri Bonneau. The robe is brick-tinged ruby, clear and fully evolved. The nose is expressive and complex, revealing layers of black truffle, aged leather, cedar, dried garrigue herbs, and stewed dark fruits (blackberry, fig, prune). With air, further nuances appear: cocoa, mocha, soft vanilla, exotic spices, and roasted coffee.
On the palate, the texture is silky and broad, with fully resolved tannins that still provide a gentle structure. The wine is harmonious and deeply flavored, showing notes of black cherry liqueur, licorice, bitter chocolate, black tea, and dried leaves. The finish is long and graceful, with lingering hints of dry herbs, warm spices, menthol, and forest floor.
A superb, old-school Châteauneuf-du-Pape from a modest vintage, elevated by Henri Bonneau’s singular touch. Deep, warm, and complex without heaviness—ready to enjoy now after careful decanting.
