The clos takes its name from a statue of Saint Jacques, which once marked a spiritual stop on the path of the pilgrims of Compostela.

With its steep slope, exposed to the south and east, the Clos Saint-Jacques could easily claim the rank of grand cru.

Today the vineyard belongs to five owners: Rousseau, Jadot, Fourrier, Sylvie Esmonin and Bruno Clair.

Its complexity and aromatic intensity require elaborate and tasty dishes, marinated meats or sweetbreads with truffles, for example.
