Barolo Acclivi 2018 - G. B. Burlotto
Barolo Acclivi 2018 - G. B. Burlotto
The color is a deep garnet with ruby highlights, typical of young Nebbiolo, already hinting at complexity.
The nose is elegant, both intense and airy. It opens with ripe red berries—morello cherry, raspberry, redcurrant—then evolves toward floral notes of violet and dried rose. With aeration, emerge sweet spices, undergrowth, tobacco, black tea, licorice, and leather.
On the palate, the attack is silky, followed by an integrated tannic structure that envelops without overpowering. The wine develops a complex framework, where red fruits meet spicy, mineral, and balsamic notes. Its freshness balances the power, bringing tension through the finish.
The finish is long, marked by black cherry, damp earth, precious wood, dried herbs, and a subtle salinity. The whole displays great precision and chiselled finesse, true to Verduno’s elegant style.
