A Monument of the Rhône Valley
Château de Beaucastel is one of the most iconic estates of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, in the hands of the Perrin family since 1909. It has perpetuated for generations an environmentally respectful viticulture and a collective winemaking faithful to tradition, symbolizing southern excellence and the authenticity of the terroir.
Terroir & Grape Varieties: The Expression of Rolled Pebbles
The estate extends over approximately 120 hectares of vines planted on soils of rolled pebbles, gravel, sand, and clay. Traditional blend with 13 grape varieties, with a majority of Grenache, followed by Mourvèdre, Syrah, Counoise, and the rare white varieties (Roussanne, Clairette…).
Viticulture & Philosophy: Balance and Biodiversity
Traceability and an agroecological approach are at the heart of the management: organic farming, integrated pest management, natural grassing, and manual harvesting. The estate promotes biodiversity and respects natural rhythms, in a quest for balance between power and freshness.
Winemaking & Aging: Collective Tradition
Each grape variety is vinified individually in large concrete or steel vats, with long macerations and regular pump-overs. The blending is finely done after fermentation. Aging for 12 to 18 months in foudres and demi-muids, without filtration, to preserve aromatic depth and substance.
Iconic Cuvées
Château de Beaucastel Rouge: complex and opulent, notes of morello cherry, Mediterranean spices, leather, garrigue herbs. Dense palate, silky tannins, saline and peppery finish.
Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin: prestigious cuvée from old Mourvèdre vines, concentrated and refined, capable of exceptional aging.
Château de Beaucastel Blanc: rare white with a complex blend (Marsanne, Roussanne…), mineral, with citrus and vanilla, lively and delicate.
Roussanne Vieilles Vignes: powerful single-variety, ample and long, a rare and mastered expression of old Roussanne.
