Domaine de Chevalier – Strength & finesse in Graves

A royal history, shaped by the humility of the terroir

Born in the 16th century under the name Chivaley, the estate became a Grand Cru Classé from 1925, consolidated by the Ricard family. In 1983, Olivier Bernard (a family dealing in cognac) became the owner, continuing its development and modernizing in harmony with the site .

67 hectares in one block, at the heart of a protective forest

Planted on fine gravel and alios, with 60 ha for Syrah... sorry, Cabernet and its partners, and 7 ha of Sauvignon-Sémillon, the vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate protected by the surrounding forest .

Philosophy: biodynamics, precision, and respect for the fruit

Gradually converted to organic farming, the estate adopts practices close to biodynamics. A rescue of the environment from the soil to the cellar, to enhance the expression of the terroir ().

Red & white wines: two unmatched jewels

  • Domaine de Chevalier Rouge (mainly Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot): chiseled structure, black fruit, spices, salinity, aging 15-30 years .

  • Domaine de Chevalier Blanc (70% Sauvignon, 30% Sémillon): citrus, flint, mineral finesse, one of the greatest dry whites in the world .

Esprit de Chevalier – second wine & modernity

A more accessible wine, true to the identity of the estate, well-constructed for quicker consumption ().
