Château Filhot, classified as 2nd Cru in 1855, has been owned by the Sichel family since the early 20th century. Today, it is managed by Irène Sichel-Emery, president, and her son Axel Sichel, who leads the modern transformation of the estate, supported by the oenologist Claire Bagur. The team maintains a balance between historical tradition and contemporary demands.

Terroir & grape varieties: finesse of the calcareous-gravelly hill
The vineyard extends over 35 ha located on the site of an ancient volcano, with mixed soils of gravel, clay, and limestone. The grape composition combines Sémillon (≈ 80%), Sauvignon Blanc (≈ 15%), and Muscadelle (≈ 5%), promoting a balance between richness, tension, and elegance.

Viticulture & philosophy: selectivity and sustainability
Sustainable viticulture, manual harvesting in several passes, meticulous parcel selection to harvest only botrytized berries. Objective: to combine noble concentration, terroir freshness, and intense aromatic expression.

Vinification & aging: controlled richness
Gentle pressing, partial fermentation in barrels (≈ 50% new) followed by total aging for 12 months. A light filtration is applied before bottling, aiming to preserve aromatic purity while ensuring balance and clarity.

Iconic cuvées
– Château Filhot: classic, generous, and refined sweet wine, notes of honey, dried apricot, candied orange, and honeyed spices.
– Le Petit Filhot: fine selection cuvée from young vines, lighter, tangy, and floral, pleasant to serve fresh and young.
– Château Filhot Sec (occasional): rare dry white, vinified from Sauvignon-Sémillon, lively, mineral, unprecedented for a sweet wine estate.

Production: 120,000 bottles;
