Located on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, Château Beau-Séjour Bécot is an iconic name on the right bank of Bordeaux. Its history dates back to the 18th century, but it is the Bécot family, owners since 1969, who have elevated the estate among the greatest. Gérard Bécot, followed by his children Dominique, Juliette, and Pierre, have led an ambitious revitalization of the vineyard and facilities.
The 22-hectare vineyard rests on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, considered one of the greatest terroirs in the region. The combination of limestone, clay-limestone soils, and old vines (some over 60 years old) offers a racy and luminous expression of Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The technical management is led by Juliette Bécot, with the support of oenologist Julien Barthe and the advice of Thomas Duclos. The estate has adopted a precise and parcel-based approach, founded on respect for living organisms and the pursuit of purity. The vinifications are gentle, with long aging in barrels (about 65% new), foudres, and amphorae.
The style of the estate combines density, fruit brightness, and limestone freshness. Beau-Séjour Bécot is recognized for its elegance, precision, and remarkable aging potential.
