Domaine Rolet — The full expression of Jura terroir

Founded in 1942 in Arbois, Domaine Rolet Père et Fils has become one of the cornerstones of the Jura, known for its precise, traditional yet dynamic approach. With nearly 65 hectares spread across Arbois, Côtes du Jura, Étoile, and Château-Chalon, Rolet is one of the few estates offering such a complete expression of the region’s styles and terroirs.

Local grapes — Savagnin, Chardonnay, Poulsard, Trousseau, Pinot Noir — are vinified with care and attention to purity and place.

Philosophy and winemaking

The vineyards are farmed with sustainable methods, increasingly close to organic. Yields are kept low and harvesting is done by hand.

In the cellar, two distinct approaches coexist:

• Ouillé wines (topped-up whites): focused on freshness and clarity.

• Oxidative wines (Vin Jaune style): aged under a veil of yeast in barrel for several years, with no topping up.
  All wines are aged patiently, with minimal intervention, to let terroir and vintage shine.

Wine style

Rolet wines are precise, elegant, and balanced. Their Chardonnays are fresh yet full, Savagnins are mineral and focused, reds are delicate and vibrant. The estate’s Vin Jaune is powerful, long, and complex — a benchmark for this unique style.

This is a classic, transparent Jura, faithful to tradition but made with modern rigor.

Signature cuvées

Arbois Chardonnay "Expression" – Crisp, clean, and fruity. A great introduction.

Côtes du Jura Savagnin ouillé – Mineral, fresh, and saline. Ideal food pairing wine.

Arbois Trousseau – Juicy and spicy with finesse. A soulful red.

Château-Chalon – Iconic Vin Jaune, aged over 6 years under flor. Profound and timeless.

Arbois Vin de Paille – Naturally sweet wine with notes of fig and honey. Balanced and rich.
