A precious aristocrat, embodiment of botrytized balance
Family-owned since the 18th century, Château de Malle embodies the subtle art of sweet wine in the Sauternes appellation. Located on the edge of the Sauternes peninsula, it develops a refined and vibrant expression of botrytized Sémillon, between aromatic nobility and precision.
Terroir & grape varieties: gravity of the gravel and aromatic richness
The vineyard covers about 28 ha on gravel, sand, and light clay, with an exposure favorable to the Ciron microclimate. The grape composition consists of 90% Sémillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc, ideal for noble concentration.
Viticulture & philosophy: patience and care
Sustainable viticulture, manual harvesting in successive sorting, only during perfect botrytized conditions. The ambition? To capture every subtle note of beeswax, dried apricot, and exotic fruits in a pure and structured expression.
Vinification & aging: mastered length
Gentle pressing, long fermentation in oak barrels (20-30% renewed), then aging for 18 to 24 months. No extensive filtration: the wine is bottled according to its natural rhythm.
Iconic cuvées
Château de Malle: golden robe, intense nose on apricot, honey, nougat, and candied citrus. Ample palate, saline freshness, perfect balance.
Château de Malle "Σern∑Σ" (epsilon): experimental micro-cuvée from old vine plots, partial aging in amphora or foudres, mineral and delicate expression.
Le Domaine de Malle blanc sec: elegant and floral, rare dry white of Sauvignon-Sémillon on Bordeaux terroir.
