A sweet jewel sculpted by the Lur-Saluces family
Château Lafaurie‑Peyraguey, a great classic of Sauternes, is now led by Anne‑Sophie de Lur‑Saluces, heir to the illustrious lineage (Marquis de Las Cases, historical owner of Yquem). She is supported by Julien Pellé, manager, and the oenologist Sophie Laval, to embody power and finesse in the spirit of the terroir.

Terroir & grape varieties: botrytized nuggets on gravel and clay
The 46 ha vineyard rests on fine gravel, deep clay, and small pebbles. The grape composition combines Sémillon (~85%), Sauvignon Blanc (~10%), Muscadelle (~5%), with multiple late harvests in search of balanced and noble botrytis.

Viticulture & philosophy: patience, rigor, multiple selections
Sustainable viticulture, manual harvesting carried out in multiple groups to select only perfectly botrytized berries. Rigor is essential to achieve this sweet concentration without losing balance.

Vinification & aging: controlled opulence & woody elegance
The juices ferment in French barrels (≈ 70% new), followed by 18 months of aging with delicate stirring. Result: aromatic richness (honey, candied apricot), saline length, and silky balance between sweetness and tension.

Iconic cuvées
Château Lafaurie‑Peyraguey (Grand Vin): bright golden robe; nose of honey, quince, candied citrus, and sweet spices; rich, creamy mouth, controlled acidity, and racy saline finish.
Les Hauts de Lafaurie: more accessible version, fresh, floral, and delicately fruity, ideal to drink young with elegance.
