Fattoria dei Barbi — Montalcino’s Brunello Stronghold

Located in Montalcino, Fattoria dei Barbi is a cornerstone of Brunello di Montalcino. Owned by the Colombini family since the 14th century, it has been producing Brunello since the late 19th century.

Philosophy and Production

The estate combines tradition and innovation. A pioneer in Brunello export and marketing, it also created Tuscany’s first Super Tuscan and single-varietal grappa. Today, led by Stefano Cinelli Colombini, it covers several hundred hectares with significant annual production.

Wine Style

The estate’s Brunellos are classic, elegant, and age-worthy. The Vigna del Fiore bottling stands out for its structure and finesse, while the Riserva, made only in top vintages, shows great nobility and complexity.
