Domaine Marc Morey & Fils – Pure Chardonnay from the Heart of Chassagne-Montrachet

Domaine Marc Morey & Fils is a historic estate based in Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy. Founded in the early 1910s by Fernand Morey and later developed by his son Marc, the estate has remained in the family for four generations and is now led by Sabine Mollard, Marc’s granddaughter.

Covering around 9 hectares, the vineyard holdings are centered on Chassagne-Montrachet, with prized Premier Cru parcels, along with plots in Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. Chardonnay dominates the plantings, though a few reds are produced from Pinot Noir.

Viticulture is sustainable, with detailed attention paid to each plot. Harvesting is manual, and grapes are carefully sorted. White winemaking is traditional and restrained: slow pressing, natural settling, indigenous yeast fermentation in barrels, and aging on fine lees for 12 to 18 months, with about 20–25% new oak.

The wines are known for their clarity, elegance and aging potential. They show vibrant minerality, tension and purity, combined with the round, expressive palate typical of Chassagne.

Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru – En Virondot
A high-elevation plot with stony soils. Precise and mineral-driven, with aromas of candied lemon, flint and white flowers. Long, saline, energetic finish.

Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru – Les Caillerets
One of the finest Premier Crus. Subtle notes of almond, white peach and linden. Structured and elegant, with long persistence on the palate.

Chassagne-Montrachet – Village
Charming and accessible, with notes of stone fruits, fresh hazelnut and salted butter. Balanced and open-knit.

Puligny-Montrachet – Village
A more linear, crystalline profile with aromas of green apple, chalk and vine blossom. Clean and energetic finish.

Saint-Aubin 1er Cru – Charmois
Fresh and lively, with notes of lemon zest, iodine and dried flowers. Great tension, ideal with seafood or grilled fish.
