Dominique Laurent — Artisan precision from Burgundy’s finest terroirs

A former pastry chef turned elite micro-négociant, Dominique Laurent has built a reputation for crafting rare, terroir-driven wines from old vines across Burgundy. Since the early 1990s, his focus has been on micro-vinifications, strict vineyard sourcing, and meticulous élevage to reveal the soul of each cru.

His wines are known for their power, sensual texture, and attention to detail — always in service of the site.

Philosophy and winemaking

Laurent works with trusted growers farming old vines, often organically, across top premier and grand cru vineyards. He insists on single-parcel vinifications, avoiding blends to preserve site identity.

Fermentations are natural and unhurried. The hallmark of his wines lies in their aging: he uses custom-made, non-toasted barrels, crafted from ultra-fine-grain oak, to preserve purity and allow slow evolution.

Wine style

Laurent’s wines are rich, deeply textured, and aromatic, with oak presence that supports, not overshadows, the fruit. His style is modern in density, but classical in balance and age-worthiness.

Each wine is crafted to reflect its specific terroir, with great depth, vibrancy, and precision.

Signature cuvées

  • Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes – Dark fruit, spice, structure.

  • Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru – Silky, floral, delicately powerful.

  • Echezeaux Grand Cru – Bold, layered, expressive.

  • Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru – Structured and intense, with great depth.

  • Nuits-Saint-Georges “Les Damodes” – Mineral and vibrant, with tension.

A craftsman of rare Burgundy

Dominique Laurent is a master of Burgundian micro-négociant art, creating limited-production wines of profound character and polish. For true Burgundy connoisseurs, his work offers some of the region’s most refined and expressive interpretations.
