A Renaissance Estate Led by the Laporte Family
Established on the remains of a medieval castle, Château du Cauze was acquired in 1986 by the Laporte family, originally from Montagne-Saint-Émilion. Today, Bruno Laporte, heir of the second generation, runs the estate with passion and expertise, bringing a renewed vision to this discreet Cru Classé.

Terroir & Grape Varieties: Gravelly Harmony and Classic Structure
The vineyard covers about 20 hectares, located east of Saint-Émilion, on soils combining gravel, clay, limestone, and marl. The grape varieties include Merlot and Cabernet (Sauvignon and Franc), offering an elegant marriage between the plateau's vigor and the fruit's suppleness.

Viticulture & Philosophy: Sobriety and Adaptation
Practiced in sustainable viticulture, the estate conducts manual harvesting and parcel selection. The Laporte family favors a gradual intensification of natural methods to reveal the purity and typicity of the vintage.

Vinification & Aging: Balance and Elegance
Vinifications are carried out in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats, with traditional maceration of 3 to 4 weeks depending on the parcels. Aging lasts about 18 months in French barrels, with a moderate use of new wood to preserve finesse and freshness.

Flagship Cuvée
Château du Cauze (Grand Vin): dark ruby color, nose of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant), fine spices, and cedar. The palate is structured, elegant with fine tannins, and a mineral finish revealing the limestone of the plateau.
