Founded in 1998 by the Doix and Llagostera families, the estate revives a winemaking tradition dating back to 1850, interrupted by the phylloxera crisis. Located at an altitude of 350–450 meters, on the typical schist slopes of Priorat (llicorella), Mas Doix cultivates about 20 hectares of vines, some of which are centuries-old, in Grenache, Carignan, and a bit of Syrah.
The viticulture is conducted in organic conversion, with meticulous vineyard work and very low yields. The grapes are hand-sorted, vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, then aged in French oak barrels for 12 to 16 months depending on the cuvées. The goal is to preserve the minerality of the terroir while offering depth and structure.
Les Crestes: entry-level cuvée (Grenache, Carignan, Syrah), focused on fruit and freshness.
Salanques: more concentrated, with a more pronounced woody touch.
Doix: the estate's flagship wine, a blend of old vines Grenache and Carignan, dense and mineral, with great aging potential.
1902 / 1903: rare cuvées from century-old Carignans, in limited quantities, classified as "Gran Vinya Classificada".
Murmuri & Salix: elegant whites based on Garnacha Blanca, Macabeo, and Pedro Ximénez, combining freshness and complexity.
The wines of Mas Doix combine the Mediterranean power of Priorat with a surprising freshness linked to the altitude. They are dense, deep, mineral, often marked by warm stone, with a great aging capacity.
