A Respected Family Heritage

Founded in 1949 by Auguste Clape and Ariette, the estate is rooted in a winemaking history of over two centuries, passed down from generation to generation. Replanting vines on the granite slopes of Cornas from 1968, Auguste became one of the first to bottle his wines in 1955, reviving the appellation . Today, led by Pierre-Marie (1988) and his son Olivier (since 2002), the estate remains true to its family tradition .

An Exceptional Vineyard, Practically Organic

Spanning approximately 8.8 hectares on steep southeast-facing terraces, the old vines (45-55 years on average, some centenarian) are cultivated using respectful practices: manual work, no herbicides, reasonable use of copper and sulfur, without certification but in full organic logic ().

Traditional Vinification, Pure Fruit-Terroir Expression

100% Syrah, hand-harvested, whole-cluster fermentation, gentle extraction, long aging of 24 months in old 1000 L foudres, followed by egg-white fining and bottling without filtration. The result? A sober, racy style, long on the palate and built for aging .

Style: Elegant Power and Mineral Energy

The estate's wines offer a solid structure shaped by fine tannins, aromas of black fruits, herbs, truffle, and a characteristic granite salinity. The two cuvées – Cornas (old vines) and Renaissance (young vines) – each offer their approach: one majestic and deep, the other more accessible in youth .

Iconic Cuvées

  • Cornas: from the great terroirs (Reynards, Sabarotte, La Côte…), a powerful and introspective wine.

  • Renaissance: a youthful wine, more supple, a clear reflection of the terroir.

    Annual production: ~30–35,000 bottles
