Domaine Les Cailloux – Pebble‑Rich Wines Rooted in Tradition

Established in 1954 by Lucien Brunel, Domaine Les Cailloux gained renown under André Brunel from 1971. The estate now covers 21 hectares in Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape (plus 40 ha in Côtes du Rhône and 30 ha in IGP Vaucluse), focusing on vineyard health, low inputs, and moderate yields (~30 hl/ha) to achieve expressive wines.

The flagship red blend consists of about 70 % Grenache, 17 % Mourvèdre, 10 % Syrah and 3 % Cinsault. Grapes are destemmed, fermented in concrete tanks for Grenache and aged in older oak for Mourvèdre and Syrah (18 months), then blended. The result is a wine defined by bright red fruit, firm grip, tension, and clean minerality.

Cuvée Centenaire is only made in top vintages from centenarian vines on the Farguerol plateau (90 % Grenache, 10 % Syrah). With very low yields (~15 hl/ha) and aging solely in stainless steel, this cuvée offers intense concentration, graphite notes, and long saline persistence.

The white wine is a field blend of Roussanne (≈80 %) and Grenache Blanc (≈20 %). Fermented and aged 6 months on lees in concrete, it offers floral richness, texture depth and saline lift—giving freshness and character.
